Restoran PikWah
A Michelin-recognized Cantonese institution beloved by locals — the energy inside is electric.
A Cantonese restaurant with the soul of a classic and the warmth of a local.

Despite earning a Michelin star, this Cantonese restaurant has long been cherished by locals. Rich in history and buzzing with energy, it draws families and groups of friends who come to savor the true essence of Cantonese cuisine. Not only do regulars keep returning — people make special trips from afar just to eat here.
Still under the radar despite the Michelin recognition.
Since being listed in the Michelin Guide, more people have come to know the place — yet Japanese reviews on Google Maps remain surprisingly scarce. There's no reservation system or online presence; phone is the only option, and it's unclear if WhatsApp works. Not the easiest for visitors unfamiliar with local customs. We showed up around 5 PM on a whim to find the restaurant already full.

Despite arriving at 5 PM, nearly every seat was taken. We told them we had no reservation and were politely turned away — until a manager emerged from the back, confirmed our small group size, and found us a spare table tucked in a corner. Cramped, but pure luck.
The reason we came: braised pork belly.

We ordered straight away — braised pork belly and other Cantonese staples. The pork belly here is authentic Cantonese style, distinct from the version at sister restaurant Pik Wah Cafe — more refined in flavor. Personally I preferred the everyday homeliness of Pik Wah Cafe's version, but this one is top-tier in its own right.

We also had fried rice.
Lively tables, family bonds over food.
The atmosphere was pure vitality. Round tables packed with families enjoying an array of dishes in countless different styles. What struck me most was how genuinely happy everyone looked. Whole families gathered around food — that's the real joy of Cantonese dining. Some groups abstained from alcohol while elders enjoyed wine; people of all ages were thoroughly in their element.
From a simple meal to a lavish banquet, there's always something new to discover. Beyond the Michelin star, the warmth rooted in the local community and the unpretentious cooking make this the ultimate destination for anyone who loves Cantonese food.
